I feel connected to those I love
As if tied by string
Though I know it’s some force
Undefined and unseen

The will of God, the voice of Angels
I hold in my belief
When our love ones feel pain
We also feel their grief

When connected, love is found
Our heads are lost in the air
And even when our hearts are distant
The connection is still there

What is our time in this place
If not the connections we have made
Thoughts, actions and memories
That remind us and reaffirm our faith

How heavy our heart can be
When one connection breaks
Spiraling inwards toward our pain
Believing all has been erased

Yet the tie between love is strong
It transcends the limits of this place
Reaching far back through our lives
Looking into the future we all face

We were together then
We are connected now
United in the trials survived
Connected in our memory of the hours
